The Mexia Blackcats took second place with 131 points in the district track meet in Fairfield last Wednesday, April 2, behind Elkhart with 152 points. The Blackcats defeated Fairfield (96), Westwood (96), Teague (74), Groesbeck (55), and Buffalo (13).
Katilyn Gipson has been named the new head coach of the Ladycats for the 202526 season, Athletic Director Aaron Nowell announced. This is her first head coaching position. Gipson played for the Ladycats, graduating in 2015. As a senior, she helped the Ladycats advance to the fourth round of the playoffs.
Limestone County citizens were saddened by the news this past Friday, that legendary Groesbeck football player, Kenneth Wayne Sims, had passed away.
