The Blackcats (7-9, 4-3 in District 20-3A) fell 10-0 at Fairfield on April 1, getting no hit. Romario Navarro, Rylan Greer and Gabe Solis each walked, and Solis stole a base.

Blackcats take second in district track meet

The Mexia Blackcats took second place with 131 points in the district track meet in Fairfield last Wednesday, April 2, behind Elkhart with 152 points. The Blackcats defeated Fairfield (96), Westwood (96), Teague (74), Groesbeck (55), and Buffalo (13).

Gipson to take the helm of Ladycats hoops Black Cats assistant Davis honored by TABC

Katilyn Gipson has been named the new head coach of the Ladycats for the 202526 season, Athletic Director Aaron Nowell announced. This is her first head coaching position. Gipson played for the Ladycats, graduating in 2015. As a senior, she helped the Ladycats advance to the fourth round of the playoffs.
