Coming off an emotional last-second win over Troy on Friday night, the Mexia Blackcats seemed to have put that game behind them Monday morning as they began preparing to meet Navasota this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Blackcat Field.
There are football games that end on what might be called a crazy note. And then there are games like Mexia’s clash against Troy on Friday night that are so Looney Tunes in the final 30 seconds that they almost defy description.
The Wortham volleyball team traveled to Covington for a last-minute match Tuesday and swept the home team in three sets, 25-13, 25-4, 25-12.
With a diversified wideopen offense this year, the Mexia Blackcats wanted to have an air of unpredictability about them.
Mexia and Troy will both be looking for their first win of the season when they battle each other Friday night in Mexia’s home opener at Blackcat Field. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
