The Mexia Blackcats can take a huge leap toward securing a playoff spot when they travel to Eustace this Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game. Mexia enters the contest holding down the fourth and final playoff spot in District 8-3A, Division I, with a 2-2 record. Eustace is winless in seven games this seson, including three in district. They are giving up an average of nearly 66 points per game in district play.
The Wortham volleyball team began the second round of District 14-2A play with a three-set sweep of Hubbard on Friday, Oct. 13.
