Christi Shivers, Mexia city secretary and director of Finance, is certified for the third time to serve in her position at City Hall by the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program.
The reeling appearances of the many who knew Mexia High School senior Oryanna Matthews, only 17, reflect a massive display of respect and admiration for a student who was positively unique in so many ways. Her life was shortchanged because of a car wreck Thursday, Feb. 10.
This week at Mexia LTC we started off with reading about the “Good Ole Days” on Monday morning. Residents enjoyed Valentine’s Day with delicious punch and cookies on Monday afternoon.
A 21-year-old man, who led law enforcement on a chase beginning late Thursday, Feb. 10, through two counties, remains in the Freestone County Jail following his arrest.
