Parkview Medical Clinic of Teague officially welcomed Family Nurse Practitioner Melissa Perez to its medical staff with a Teague Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting and open house Friday, Feb. 18.

Jerri Walts, holding the scissors and wearing the dark shades, is cutting the red ribbon to celebrate the opening of her new cottage business named Jerri’s Cakes and Treats. Standing to her right is Traci LaFoy, director of the Mexia Chamber of Commerce, which Walts already has joined. Her bakery is located in her home in Forrest Glades. Friends and other local business owners are celebrating with her. She particularly enjoys baking and decorating wedding, birthday and party cakes.
