The Mexia City Council initiated a project to rehabilitate an ambulance, approved replacing a roll-up door at the Fire Station and approved grant funds to acquire a cot lifting system during its Aug. 16 meeting.
More than 350 well-wishers from across the area met together Saturday evening, Aug. 20, to raise funds to help the residents of the Mexia State Supported Living Center.
The Mexia Independent School District Board of Trustees went through various agenda items including insurance renewal; the operations; facilities and technology report; and campus leadership team presentations Monday, Aug. 22, during its regular meeting.
Members of the Dunbar-Douglass Alumni Association dropped off school supplies donated by the association and individual members of the association to A.B. McBay Elementary and Mexia High School. Organization member and Mexia High School Secretary Brenda Hubbard stood for a photograph with Principal John Griggs, MHS staff Dorothy Davis and MHS Assistant principal Chimere Conner.
