This week at Mexia LTC all activities are being done in the halls. Residents enjoyed snacks in the halls Monday afternoon. Residents enjoyed ice cream on Tuesday afternoon. Residents will enjoy activities of choice on Wednesday morning and play bingo that afternoon.
Santa’s legendary workshop might be located at the North Pole, but those passing by may notice a similarly stocked warehouse full of Christmas gifts at the Mexia Independent School District Bus Barn. Alvis Minter, Marine Toys For Tots regional coordinator, started purchasing children’s toys Oct. 1 for the program, he said. If the stockpile of gifts looks like a lot now, just wait until Dec. 17, when they move everything to the First Presbyterian Church to distribute gifts, he said.
