Lions car show, other events to highlight July 4

Plans are in place for the July 4 activities in Mexia, including the Mexia Lions Club’s Red, White and Blue Car Show as well as a Fireworks Show in Mexia Hughes City Park, the Pet Parade, the Children’s Patriotic Bike Parade and other activities.

Alzheimer’s Walk attracts crowd despite heat

The Bi-Stone Alzheimer’s Walk attracted about 140 people Saturday, June 22, and raised $11,000 for research, according to Tiffany Koslovsky, regional director for the Alzheimer’s Association office in Waco.
