This week at Mexia LTC we started the week bowling on Monday morning. Residents played bingo that afternoon. Resi This week at Mexia LTC we started the week with Bible Study provided by Irma Carranza on Monday morning. Residents played bingo that afternoon. Residents enjoyed Bible group with Bob Kersten on Tuesday morning. Residents played bowling and enjoyed ice cream provided by McKenna from Solaris Hospice on Tuesday afternoon. Residents will have their exercise group on Wednesday morning and play bingo that afternoon. Residents will play ring toss on Thursday morning and celebrate our August birthdays with a birthday party on Thursday afternoon. Michelle with Reliant at Home Hospice and Daniel will bring baby goats to visit on Wednesday evening. Residents will enjoy manicures on Friday morning and play bingo that afternoon. Residents will have worship services on Sunday morning and enjoy Church services either online or on TV Sunday evening.All activities that we are able to do are from a safe social distance. All activities are subject to change due to Covid-19 guidelines.

Coolidge man OK after being shot in scuffle with intruder

A Coolidge man drove himself to a local convenience store early Tuesday morning, Aug. 21, to call for help after being shot by an intruder at his home, according to a Limestone County Sheriff’s Office report. The victim, whose name was not released, reported he left for work before 6 a.m. Tuesday when he was alerted by a security system that there was someone in his home. He returned and entered the house and confronted the intruder.
