Late rally propels ’Cats past Elkhart

The Mexia baseball team overcame a three-run deficit with seven runs in the sixth inning and defeated Elkhart, 15-12, in a District 20-3A contest at Elkhart on Tuesday, April 11.

Mexia’s Tej Bryant, left, runs ahead of a Teague opponent during a relay at the District 20-3A track meet in Fairfield on Thursday, April 13. Nineteen Mexia athletes qualified for the area meet. Bryant qualified in three events. He won the 200-meter dash and helped the Blackcats to first place in the 4x200 and a runner-up finish in the 4x100.
