The Mexia Ladycats basketball team resumed district play Tuesday night and notched a blowout victory at home over the Westwood Lady Panthers, 54-26. Mexia's district mark now stands at 2-0.
The Wortham Lady Bulldogs basketball team suffered a 47-19 defeat at Moody on Tuesday night, Dec. 10 Haylee Shivers accounted for 12 of Wortham’s 19 points on the night. Freshman Sarina Wicker added four points for the Lady Bulldogs in defeat.
The shortest player on the Mexia Blackcats basketball team finds himself in a prominent role early in the season.
The Coolidge Ladyjackets basketball team had a tall order Tuesday night. They were tasked with defending their home court against perennial powerhouse and district rival Neches Lady Tigers. Coolidge lost the contest 52-17 and its district record now evens up at 1-1.
