China Spring broke away from a close game with 13 consecutive points encompassing the first and second quarters and rolled to a 59-44 victory in a District 18-4A game at Mexia on Tuesday night.
The Mexia girls’ basketball team led after one quarter, but had trouble putting the ball in the basket over the final three stanzas and lost at China Spring, 45-35, in a District 18- 4A game Tuesday.
Junior goalkeeper Rebecca Hernandez made a combined 26 saves in three matches at the Hudson Tournament in Lufkin on Jan. 14-16, but the Mexia girls’ soccer team was not able to earn a victory in the event.
Yasmine Green tossed up a couple of rainbows and the Mexia Ladycats reaped the pot of gold at the end in the form of a 54-52 victory over Robinson at the Mexia High School gym Saturday afternoon.
