The Mexia girls’ basketball team is off to a fast start, and they’re getting some attention from around the state.
The Mexia boys’ basketball team overcame a tight first half and broke away in the second half for a 71-48 victory at Lorena in its opening game of the season Friday night.
Mexia won the District 7-4A, Division II championship with an unblemished 4-0 record. So, it is no surprise that the Blackcats also dominated the endof-season, all-district awards.
There are just two more chances to sign up for the Mexia Little Dribblers basketball program.
The Mexia girls’ basketball team showed no ill effects of its two-week quarantine due to COVID-19 and week-long Thanksgiving break when it returned to the court Tuesday night.
