Richard Edward “Sandy” Sanderson passed away at his home in Mexia on Aug. 25, 2020, at the age of 72. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug.
Dennis Glenn Bundy passed away on Aug. 24, 2020, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia at the age of 69. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m.
The Honorable Putnam Kaye “P.K.” Reiter, loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather, passed away suddenly on Aug. 18, 2020, at the age of 87.
San Juana Aide Lira passed away in Mexia on Aug. 20, 2020, at the age of 52. She was born Nov. 2, 1967, in Venecia, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Arturo H. and Maria Elena Cantu Chavez. San Juana married Gerardo Lira on Aug. 7, 1993, in Sullivan City, and they were blessed with one daughter, Yesenia. After moving to Mexia, San Juana became an employee of the Mexia ISD. San Juana had been a teacher’s aide at Mexia High School for almost 20 years.
Sandra Lee Leggett passed away in Mexia on Aug. 19, 2020, at the age of 71. She was born January 10, 1949 in Casper, Wyoming to Chester Lee and Wyoma Lee McKendry Leggett. She was a physical therapist and worked for several medical facilities for many years, prior to retirement. Sandra’s job proved to be very rewarding to her as she loved working and taking care of people.
