William Kirk ‘Bill’ Dodson

William Kirk “Bill” Dodson, Mexia businessman, passed away Jan. 10, 2019, at his home at the age of 69. A celebration-of-life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel.

Bill was born July 27, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Carl Clarence and Thelma Faye Bramble Dodson.  In 2001, he moved to Mexia to open his heavy equipment company known as High Tech Industries.  Buying and selling equipment was a challenging job, but one Bill thoroughly enjoyed.

Although work was a big part of Bill’s life, there was nothing more important than his family and their time together.  He was happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends.  When he had the opportunity, he also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.  Bill was a member of First Baptist Church in Mexia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Thelma Dodson; and brother Charles Dodson.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of Mexia; five children, Raquel Dizmon, of Lubbock, Julie Strange, of Dana Point, Calif., Jeff Dizmon, of Riverside, Calif., William Dodson, of Mexia, Charlotte Clunis, of Simi Valley, Calif., and Donnie Petersen, of West Valley, Utah; 11 grandchildren, Alex, Elijah, Parker and Jaiden Dodson, Destiny, Audrey, Erin, Jessica, Elyse and Grace Dizmon, and Johnny Howard; one great-granddaughter, Alya Dodson, and two great-grandsons, Jackson and Christian Dodson; and his faithful dogs and companions, Sandy and Rascal “Poo Poo.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice, in Waco.
