Wanda Jean Jones

Wanda Jean Jones was born Jan.  2, 1945, to the union of Washington and Theresa Chambers in Wortham.  Wanda accepted Christ as her savior at Smith Chapel Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. H.V. Chambers Sr.  She attended school at F.W. Wheeler in Wortham.  She was united in holy matrimony to Vernell Jones, until preceded in death, from which she gained seven sons.

She went to be with her heavenly father June 12, 2019.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Don, Earnest and Charles Jones; six brothers, Samuel, George, Joe Dan, James, Billy and Sammy Chambers; and two sisters, Louise Smith and Pearl Strain

Wanda leaves to cherish her memories two lovely sisters, Annie “Jessie” Spence of Wortham and Eula “Peg” Brown of Mexia; four sons, Vince Jones of Corsicana, Paul Jones, Raymond Jones and Robert Jones, all of Dallas; a special niece, Ruby Smith of Wortham; a special great-niece, Tamara Bryant of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.   

Service held at 11 a.m. June 22 at Smith Chapel Baptist Church in Wortham.  

Services and arrangements entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia.
