WADE DAVIS

Wade Davis, 93 of Mexia, passed away Oct. 22, 2021, at the Mexia LTC. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27with an hour of visitation before, at Mexia Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born March 20, 1928, in Mexia, to White L. and Emma Kate Tucker Davis. He graduated the top of his class from the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco. Afterward, he served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was also trained in the field in dental hygiene. After his service was complete, Wade served as a dental technician for many dentists in Mexia, retiring after 43 years.

He met the love of his life, Elsie, on a blind date and they were married Nov. 27, 1956, at the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church of Teague. Elise was the love of his life, and he did very well at providing for her and taking care of her. He also always had his faithful companion, his dog BJ, with him everywhere he went.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents, White and Emma Davis; sisters, Elizabeth McLendon, Aline Davis and Mary Mitchell; brothers, Jack, Joe, Lawrence and Robert L. Davis; and niece, Sarah Markey.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elsie Davis of Mexia; sister-in-law, Terra Davis of Fred; nieces, Carolyn Hathaway of Fred, Patricia Faltesek of Dickinson and Aline Graham of Lumberton; nephews, Bobby Joe Davis of Warren and Wade Alan Davis of Silsbee; sister, Thelma Pope of Teague; special friends, Nancy and Bill Davis of Nacogdoches; as well as other family and friends.
