Terris Lee Chapman

Terris Lee Chapman passed away Feb. 27, 2019, in Waco, at the age of 60. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 2, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia.

Terris was born Jan. 27, 1959, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Aaron and Marlene Mc-Dowell Head. After graduating from Meade High School in Meade, Neb., she entered Tarleton State University, where she received two Master’s degrees, one in Accounting and the other in Business Administration.

Terris married the love of her life, Billy R. Chapman, on May 15, 1981; they were blessed with three children, Brittany, Chelsea and Ryan. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She cherished her family; however, her proudest moment was becoming a grandmother; Mabel owned her heart from Day One. She enjoyed keeping, and especially spoiling her.

Terris worked for the Mexia State Supported Living Center for a few years, prior to retiring due to her health. She was an active member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Mexia and Under The Blood Church in Mexia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Aaron Head.

Terris is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Billy Chapman, of Groesbeck; mother Marlene Head; children Brittany Chapman, of Mexia, Chelsea Chapman and husband Ryan Spracklen, of Hewitt, and Charlie Chapman and wife Angie, of Waco; granddaughter Mabel Spracklen; sisters Anita Higgins, Tonja Graves, Bobbette McCartney and Jaylene Zanker; and a number of nieces and nephews.
