Scott Anthony Keeling

Scott Anthony Keeling, 60 of Wortham, passed away at his residence on March 11, 2019. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 14, at First Baptist Church in Wortham, with the Rev. Justin Colquette, John Smith and David Wren officiating. Interment followed in the Wortham Cemetery. Visitation was also held Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Wortham prior to the service.

Scott was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Fairfield, to Arnold and Marilyn Fleming Keeling. He was a police officer for Corsicana Police Department and Wortham Police Department. After his retirement as chief of police for Wortham Police Department, he worked ranching until his health failed.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Keeling and nephew, Shelby Carroll.

He is survived by his daughter, Kasi Wright and husband Sam, of Wortham; granddaughter Samantha Wright, of Wortham; father Arnold Keeling, of Wortham; sister Stacy Johnson and husband Nolan, of Wortham; brothers John Keeling and wife Diana, of Houston and Kerry Keeling, of Houston; niece Jami Grela and husband Tom, of Wortham; several great nieces and nephews; numerous close cousins and friends and two special loving friends in his life the past few months, Linda and Kim.

Pallbearers will be Chunky Busby, Thomas Echartea, James Carroll, Darrell Ridge, Kelly Craig, Tom Bates and Ronnie Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Jones, Lewis Palos, Mel Michael, Brad McReynolds and Alan Gibson.
