SANDRA WALDROP-MCKISSACK

Sandra G. “Sandi” Waldrop-McKissack, of Lake Mexia, passed away Dec. 19, 2020, in Victoria, at the age of 68. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the spring, her favorite time of the year.

Sandi was born Dec. 1, 1952, in Mexia, to Billy George Waldrop Sr. and Clara June Jones Waldrop. She was a graduate of Mexia High School, Class of 1971. She attended Navarro College and took courses in Fashion Merchandising at Sam Houston State University. Prior to retiring, she worked for Pegasus as a Purchasing Manager, and for Levantina as an Inventory Control Manager.

Sandi was a devoted mother, sister and MeMe. She loved her family and especially loved her role as MeMe; the grandchildren were truly special. Sandi’s extended family included her two dogs that she dearly loved, Lucy and Cassie.

Spending time gardening, or any form of outside activities, was her favorite time to communicate with God and admire the country he has created. Sandi was very talented in different types of crafts and an avid quilter. She was always friendly and enjoyed interacting with people. Sandi also loved her church and church family; she was a longtime active member of First United Methodist Church in Coolidge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Clara June Waldrop.

Sandi is survived by her dearest friend and constant companion, Kathryn Dowdle and godson, James Dowdle; children Andy Russell and wife Micah, Holley Bowman and husband Adrian, Bryant Rasbeary and wife Jewel, Suzanne Cotton and husband Jimmie, Sharon Carlisle and husband Mitch, and Dale Rasbeary; brothers Bill Waldrop Jr. and Larry Waldrop; sister Leah Waldrop; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pets, Lucy and Cassie.
