Ryan Keith Harrup

Funeral services Keith Harrup will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Jerry Bontrager will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Woodland Cemetery near Kirvin with an honor guard provided by the U. S. Army.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday with the family present from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.

Keith Harrup passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in a motorcycle accident near Kirvin.

He was born in Palestine on June 5, 1985, grew up in Freestone County near Kirvin, and graduated from Wortham High School with the class of 2003. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served for over six years.

Keith completed three twelve month tours of duty during his service time, one in Afghanistan and two in Iraq, earning numerous decorations and medals for his service to country. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Iraq to work private security. In 2011, he returned to Freestone County and went to work for BNSF Railroad as a conductor where he remained. Keith loved to ride motorcycles and was always happy.

He never met a stranger, and enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.

He is survived by three children, Kailee Marchand, Cole Harrup, and Harley Harrup; the mother of his children, Erin Murray; his mother, Shelley Rieves Hutson & husband Larry of Teague; his father, Kenneth Harrup and wife Kim of Oklahoma; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Rieves of Teague; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Rieves of Streetman; paternal grandfather, Gardner Harrup of Center; maternal great-grandmother, Beth Norton of Teague; five brothers, Kris Harrup & wife Jennifer of Houston, Logan Harrup and wife Jena of Wisconsin, Steven Hutson & girlfriend Meredith of Kirvin, Blake Hutson & wife Morgan of Groesbeck, and Dylon Hutson and wife Sammy of Kansas; one sister, Lacie Hutson of Kansas; special uncle/ brother, K.P. Rieves and wife Jessica of Teague; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Mr. Harrup was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Birdie Bass.
