RUTHIE HAND DANIEL

Ruthie Hand Daniel, of Mexia, entered her heavenly home Feb. 10, 2019, from Waco at the age of 68.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Sawyer and the Rev. John McElroy officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lost Prairie Cemetery.  Johnathan Bible, Jackey Rush, Johnny Rogers, Corey Johnson and Johnnie Welch will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Ruthie was born Oct. 8, 1950, in Personville to John Edgar Hand and Willie Mae Sims.  She lived in Limestone County most of her life and was a graduate of Mexia High School.  While in high school she worked as an aide at the Mexia State School.  She later worked as a cashier/cashier trainer for HEB in Marble Falls for several years.

Ruthie loved her Lord and her family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and sister; her family knew if they needed anything, Ruthie was always there for them.  She dearly loved her church, Landmark Baptist Church, and her church family. She was truly a “people person!”  Visiting around was her favorite hobby. It didn’t matter where she went, she always greeted people with a friendly smile, hello and had time to visit; obviously, she never met a stranger.  Most of her conversations took place at Walmart and with the coffee drinkers at the Drilling Rig.

Ruthie’s daughter, Linda, was the light of her life. During Linda’s school years in Marble Falls, she served not only as Band Booster president, but was involved in any and everything in which she participated.  Ruthie truly enjoyed life and made the most of it.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Hand; mother and stepdad, Willie Mae and George L. Sims; husband and Linda’s dad, Charles Tally; and husband, Charley Daniel.

Ruthie is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Smith; stepson, Joe Edd Daniel and wife, Holley and their son, Charley; sister, Clara Garner and husband, Ben; brothers, Billy Sims, Don Hand and wife, Leonora, Carl Hand and wife, Barbara, Walter Hand and wife, Kay Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
