ROBERT ‘BOB’ WACK

Robert “Bob” Wack of Mexia, passed away on the morning of Feb. 21, 2021. He was 81.

Bob had been a resident of Mexia at the time of his death, having moved to the area in or around 2013.

We don’t know a whole lot about Bob – he was one of the many unseen who live in the shadows of homelessness. However, what we do know is that he was originally from St. Louis; he was a U.S. Army veteran (2 years active, 4 years reserve), and a longhaul trucker. Bob pulled into Mexia one day and just decided to stay.

Bob is survived by his constant companion, a little Lhasa apso mix. He always made sure his little dog was fed first, and always the best of what he had. The existence of any additional family is unknown.

We will have a Celebration of Life for Bob at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home withthe Rev. Jenn Pick officiating. To protect attendees from illness, masks will be required.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that monetary donations be made to Mexia Area Nutrition, Needs, and Homeless Advocates (MANNHA), Veteran Partners of Texas, VFW Post 4694, or any homeless charity of your choice, as well as nonperishable food donations to your local Blessing Boxes.
