PATSY L. WOFFORD

Patsy L Wofford passed away April 12, 2021, at the age of 76.

Patsy was born Aug. 15, 1944, in Corsicana to Woodrow Hinchliffe and Gladys Schoellman, a beautician. She grew up with her siblings Ouida Foster and Donnie Hinchliffe and went to school in Point Enterprise.

Patsy was a feisty woman who told it like it was. This strong attitude helped her as a single mother to her two children, Ronald Steven Wofford and Debbie Suzanne Grimes. Working as a cosmetologist, Patsy saved up and did without so that her kids could have things they needed.

A kind and loving person, Patsy really enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed the big holidays like Thanksgiving when the whole family would get together, but she also enjoyed the everyday opportunities to get together. She loved taking her sister and mom to make crafts and to go to garage sales. They would find their treasures and then stop at Jack in the Box for tacos. They would talk on the phone for hours. She liked taking her grandkids to the farmer’s market to pick peaches and berries. With her son Ronnie, she enjoyed watching racing cars. He would take her to look at cars and would take her racing and do some donuts. Patsy did not like a lot of fuss over her, but she appreciated everything, especially time with family.

Whenever she was able to, Patsy worked to take care of her yard – mowing, weed-eating, and planting. She liked being able to sit on her front porch and enjoy how beautiful her yard and home were. She also loved to sew, watch westerns, and eat ice cream cones.

Patsy leaves behind her children Ronnie Wofford and Debbie Grimes; and her grandchildren Cris Perez of Bossier, Louisiana, Viktoria Pace of Carthage, Mississippi, Justin Wofford of Angleton, and Matthew Wofford of Canton, Tiffany Soape and her husband Danny of Baytown, Cassie Aikins of Carrizo Springs, Haylee Ungaro and her husband Christopher of Waller; her brother Donnie Hinchliffe and his wife Carolyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Ouida Foster, her parents Woodrow Hinchliffe and Gladys Schoellman.

To honor Patsy’s life, a visitation was held on Thursday, April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home. Her funeral service was Friday, April 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home, followed by interment at Point Enterprise Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Wofford, Lester V. Johnson, John Weeks, Kunta Jackson, John Jones and Rodney Blackmon.

An online guestbook is available at www.corleyporterfuneralhome.com and selecting the Patsy Wofford obituary.
