Marion Estelle Thomas Kegans

Marion Estelle Thomas Kegans, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 26, 2020.

Ms. Kegans was born on Dec. 18, 1930, in Farrar, to Marion Little Thomas and Essie Wells Thomas. She lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Dallas, Tyler, Livingston and later years in Fort Worth, but called Mexia her home.

Ms. Kegans was a homemaker. She worked for a time in fashion sales when she lived in Tyler. Ms. Kegans’ passions were her family, gardening and baking. Her delicious cakes were enjoyed by her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Essie Thomas; her husband, Ray Kegans; her daughter, Mary anna Van Dine and her sister, JoNell Grider. Ms. Kegans was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Harris, grandchildren and spouse Macy and Chris Workman, Jon Harris; and great-grandson, Jonah Workman and two nieces. She is also survived by her stepchildren and grandchildren from her husband, Ray Kegans.

Visitation with the family will be 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow immediately afterwards in the Mexia Cemetery, with Macy Workman, Chris Workman and Jon Harris officiating.

The family would appreciate donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association North Central Texas, 2630 West Freeway, Unit 100, Fort Worth, TX 76102.
