Marie Frost

Marie Frost, formerly of Wortham, passed away Aug. 5, 2023, in Houston. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at First Baptist Church of Wortham with the Rev. Justin Colquette officiating. Interment followed last Wortham Cemetery.

Marie was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Luling, to William Maurice and Mattie (Craig) Johnson. She married Clifford Alton Frost in April 1952 in Wortham. They were blessed with two sons, Johnny and Danny. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she had a 25-year career as vice president of First National Bank of Wortham.

Marie was a dedicated Christian. Her life revolved around God, family, friends and helping others. Marie always loved having her home filled with family, especially at Christmas; those were her fondest memories. She cherished her grandchildren. Time with them brought her great joy and happiness. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and collecting tea pots.

Marie had a loving heart and an outgoing personality. She believed in being of service to others and treating everyone with respect. Marie was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church of Wortham, a member of the Study Club of Wortham, involved in the Wortham Cemetery Association, and had a willingness to help in other community projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Maurice and Mattie (Craig) Johnson; husband of 66 years, Clifford Alton Frost; and son, Danny Frost.

Marie is survived by her son, Johnny Frost of Cypress; daughter-in-law, Debbie Frost; grandsons, Jared Frost and wife Sara, and their children Casey, Claire, and William, and Justin Frost and wife Lori, and their children, Parker and Paige of Cypress; and granddaughter, Danielle Frost.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wortham Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 153, Wortham, TX 76693.
