Madie Sue Watson

Madie Sue Watson, 83, of Mexia, passed away on Sept. 24, 2020, at her residence in Mexia. Graveside services were to be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. at Wortham Cemetery, with Robert Ross officiating. Family visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services.

Mrs. Watson was born on Oct. 27, 1936, in Teague to Huey Christopher and Audrey Jones Gore. Madie was a retired supervisor at the Mexia State School.

Madie was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Watson; sons Ronald Watson and Darrell Watson; parents Huey and Audrey Gore; and siblings Linda McCoslin, Alfred Gore, Avis Willis, Terry Gore and Christopher Gore. She is survived by her sons, Roy Watson and wife Michelle, of Colorado, and Donald Watson, of Lake Mexia; siblings Juanita Dvorak and husband Al, of Garland, Louise Zemple, of Kansas, J.W. Gore of Mexia, Gene Gore and wife Linda, of Houston; sister-in-law Margie Watson, of Groesbeck, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers are Bryan Watson, Michael Watson, Robert Day, Kevin Dorn, Bastion Pickens and Chance Watson.
