Linda Joyce Miller

Mrs. Linda Joyce Miller Messer, 75, of Mexia passed away Sunday, May 19, in Mexia. Linda was born July 26, 1943, in Mexia to Limuel G. “Buddy” and Eva Isabelle Rogers Miller.

Linda loved life and had a very strong constitution and faith that enabled her to withstand many difficulties and hardships.  She worked as a legal assistant for attorney Jim Gill in Corsicana for many years.  She was blessed with the ability to play most any stringed instrument, to sing and write poetry.  Linda had the artsy talent of going to garage sales and decorating her home with her finds.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jessica Barrientez; son, Carl Cargile; and great-grandson, Cash Silva.

Linda is survived by her sons, Don Cargile and Brett Cargile; grandchildren, Kayla Cargile, Joshua Cargile and Ralph Barrientez; and great grandchild, Kadynce Silva. She is also survived by her siblings, Joan Roberts, Ronnie Miller and Kay Ellis; and sister-in-law, June Parker.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, at the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home chapel with Don Ellis officiating.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Wortham cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wortham Cemetery Association:  P.O. Box 112, Wortham, TX 76693.
