Joe Deane Foley

Joe Deane Foley of Uvalde, and former resident of Groesbeck, passed away on Sept. 4, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct.7, at Lake Limestone Baptist Church, 17905 Sterling Robertson Dam Road, Thornton.

Joe was born Dec. 25, 1944, in Mexia, where he was raised by Thomas Alton Foley and Mary Helen Foley. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and was a Vietnam veteran.

Joe was a member of the Lake Limestone Baptist Church until moving to Uvalde, where he was a member of the Bread of Life church.

Joe was preceded in death by his youngest son, James J Foley.

He is survived by his wife Connie Gayle Foley (Uvalde); and his children, Cody and Caitlyn Foley (Beeville), Cyle Foley and Dr. Kelly Studdard (Dallas), and Danny and Julie Foley (Beeville). He has eight grandchildren: Richard Foley (Alpine), Abel Foley (San Marcos), Caitlynn Foley (Beeville), Robert Tyler Flores (Seattle, Wash.), Brooke Lynette Flores (Boerne) Roger Tate Apostol (Conroe) Emery Foley (Beeville), and Findley Foley (Beeville). He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Anita Foley (Mexia), Mark and Karen Fry (Uvalde), Jennifer and Mike McNair (Lake Kickapoo); nephews and nieces: Dennis Foley (Mexia), Wendy (Idalou), Julie Armstrong (Scotland, Texas), Billy Foley (Mexia, Chad Foley (Alamogordo, N.M.), Jessica Hixon (Austin), Jacob Haston (New Braunfels), Bobby McNair (Lake Kickapoo), Matthew McNair (Lake Kickapoo).
