James Edward Hart nett III

James Edward Hartnett III, 52, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, March 17, 2023, in Arlington. James was born on Dec. 17, 1970, to James Edward Hartnett Jr. and Theresa Carroll Hartnett in Grand Prairie.

James was passionate about many things in his lifetime; primary among them was baseball, which he played from the time he could hold a bat and throw a ball. He ultimately played for the Grand Prairie Gophers, where he played numerous positions, including pitcher. He was considered a team leader and loved the sport and his teammates.

James had an incredible knack for electronics, which he was able to cultivate into a successful career, most recently as operations manager at DB Media Solutions in Southlake.

James enjoyed spending time with his family, riding dirt bikes, grilling, fishing, and playing bass guitar. He had many natural talents and excelled at everything he attempted.

Besides his parents mentioned above, James is survived by daughters, Skylar and Lily Hartnett; sisters, Debbie (Mark) McIntire and Carol (Jay) Husik; nephew, Mitch (Mekenzie) McIntire; niece, Meagan McIntire; and nephews, Daniel and Carson McIntire. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. James will be remembered as a wonderful father, son, brother and friend, and he will be greatly missed.

In the last few months of his life, James successfully challenged himself to make someone smile every day. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you follow his example and do the same.

A private service will be held by his family and close family friends. We ask that you keep us in your prayers as we navigate this loss.
