Glolria Sue Minchew

Gloria Sue Minchew, of Wortham, entered her heavenly home on March 4, 2023, the home she has been preparing for her entire life.

She passed away in Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco at 77. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin, with The Rev. Justin Colquette officiating. Visitation with the family was from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Gloria was born June 19, 1945, in Fort Worth to Cecil Gerald and Alta Cecil (Ingram) Graves. She was a patient representative for Parkview Regional Hospital for more than 18 years before retirement.

Gloria’s life revolved around serving the Lord and loving and caring for her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and spoiling them as much as possible. She loved her church and church family and thoroughly enjoyed singing at church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wortham.

Gloria enjoyed all types of crafts, especially decorating Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Ladies Red Hat organization and was known to participate in some local theatrical events whenever possible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Alta Graves; and husband, Wiley Dalton “Sonny” Minchew; and her brother, Cecil “Smitty” Smith.

Gloria is survived by her children, David Paul Lunsford and wife, Cherish, Daniel Mark Lunsford and wife, Leah, Debbi Lynn Reichert and Peter Mullis, Debra Minchew, Sherry Bonner and Pam Beene; grandchildren, Tiffany Lunsford, Candiss Lunsford, Nicole Lunsford, Madison Lunsford, Elle Lunsford, Rachelle Cochran, Billie Cochran, Santana Sainez, Madelyn Mullis, Georgia Mullis, April Trevino, James “Jamie” Bonner, Larry Bonner, Deann Bonner and Charles Bonner; and numerous great-grandchildren.
