Frederick Oneal Arnold

Frederick Oneal Arnold was born to Lucy Mae Arnold and Willie Mae Cook on Aug. 19, 1959, in Mexia. He passed away Jan. 20, 2022.

He went to school in Mexia until the fifth grade and moved to Coolidge, where he graduated in 1978.

At an early age, he joined First Baptist Church of Coolidge. He later moved his membership. He was a faithful member up until his health declined.

He worked in the healthcare profession all of his adult life until his health failed and he had to retire from Mexia State Supported Living Center. He enjoyed his life by playing basketball, BBQ get-togethers, spending time with family and friends, fishing with friends, playing dominoes and watching his favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy Mae Arnold and Willie Mae Cook; brothers, Fenard Wayne and Vernon C. Gardner; sisters, Mattie D. Vernon and Dorothy Jackson.

Left to cherish his memories are daughters, LaShunda Driver and NaShequa Adkison, both of Coolidge; son, Trevor O. Smith of Portland, Ore.; grandkids, Keauntee Driver, Khailden Walker, Na-Taezia and LaKendra Hatton, all of Coolidge, Ja’Kwan Tolliver of Waco, Kinsley and Zyir Smith of Portland, Ore.; great-grandkids, Kaysion and Ka’Shiya Walker of Waco; sisters, Joyce Smith (Jackie) of Vancouver, Wash., Yvonne Sloan and Jacqueline Arnold of Dallas, Geneva Graves, Marilyn Graves, Gloria Graves, Karrie Wiley (Edward), Janette Forge; brothers, James Arnold, Donald Arnold of Portland, Ore., Kenneth Arnold of Mexia, Preston Arnold of Iowa Park, Michael Graves (Ada), Sherman Graves, Marvin Graves, Kary Cook and Tim Forge; a host of nieces, nephews, other family special friends and loved ones.

Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at First Baptist Church of Mexia. Arrangements entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia.
