FRANKIE JUANITA HENDERSON

Frankie Juanita Henderson of Mexia entered her heavenly home on Feb. 18, 2022, at the age of 92. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with Shelly Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Mike Morton, Spike Morton, Jason Morton, Kevin Morton and Jarrod Hardin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be J. D. Quaca, Tom Quaca and Larry Haynes.

Juanita was born May 31, 1929, in Mexia to Thomas Grady and Laura Beatrice (Green) Morton. She was a lifelong resident of Mexia. She married Nolan “Sonny” Henderson on Feb. 1, 1946 in Groesbeck. They were truly together almost everyday of their lives, they both worked for the Mexia Textile Mill, Hobbs Bonded Fiber, and owned and operated Mr. G’s laundromat prior to retirement.

Juanita was a hard worker and never minded it. She just knew that was a part of life. However, her priorities in life were serving the Lord and taking care of her family. As her family grew, so did her love. She and Sonny were blessed with a daughter, Donna, grandson, Brian, and great-grandson, J.D. After J.D. came along, everything evolved around him. He had truly captured “Mimi’s” heart.

Juanita was a dedicated Christian. She was a longtime active member of Northside Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years in addition to taking part wherever she was needed. She loved her church family, and everyone loved her. She was a caring, loving, easy-going person, but she could also take care of herself if she was ever challenged or backed into a corner.

Juanita enjoyed collecting dishes, shopping and cooking for her family. Her family declares, because of the many shoes she owned, that she was also a collector of shoes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Bea Morton; her husband of 67 years, Nolan “Sonny” Henderson; daughter, Donna Quaca; brothers, Thomas Grady “Bo” Morton Jr., Finis Lee “Tubby” Morton and John Leonard “Buckwheat” Morton; and sister-in-law, Janie Morton.

Juanita is survived by her grandson, Brian Quaca and wife Junie; great-grandson, Jasper Dean “J.D.” Quaca; bonus great-grandsons, Hunter and Gauge Pack; special son-in-law, Tom Quaca; sisters-in-law, Darlene Morton and Patsy Morton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Limestone Medical Center’s nurses and entire staff for the wonderful care given to her while she was in their care.
