Frank Lee Dunlap Jr.

Frank Lee Dunlap Jr. of Donie passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, at Fairfield Nursing Home & Rehab.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 4, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Jon Honea officiating.  Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Yeager, Frank Baker, Patrick Feeney, Jerry Lucario, Paul Carpenter and Trent Turner.

Frank was born November 28, 1940, in San Antonio to Frank Lee Dunlap Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Taylor) Dunlap.  After high school he obtained a Bachelor in Business Administration with a focus in Management from the University of Houston and later became a proud veteran and was honorably discharged from the Texas National Guard as a Private First Class. He was very proud of garnering a rifle sharpshooter qualification.

Frank worked for the United Postal Service for 27 years and retired as a manager in 1992.

Frank married Louise Baker and they were together for more than 25 years and lived in Limestone County with their two dogs, Ory and Maggie Mae. Frank and Louise enjoyed road trips and traveled the U.S. and Canada.  When not on vacation and traveling the country, Frank found great peace and enjoyment caring for his cattle and land.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Lee Dunlap, Sr and Mary Elizabeth (Taylor) Dunlap.

Frank is survived by his wife, Louise Dunlap of Donie; sons and daughter-in-laws, Frank Lee Dunlap III and wife Anita of Conroe, Paul Wesley Dunlap and wife Tammy of Utopia, Scott Brian Dunlap and wife Wendy of San Antonio; and daughter and sonin-law, Nicole Renee Soto and husband Alvaro of Dickinson. His love rested in his grandchildren, Desiree Kristen Dunlap of San Antonio, Charles Forrest Dunlap of San Angelo, Cherish Annette Dunlap of Utopia, Judah Christian Dunlap of San Antonio and great-granddaughter, Ocean Noel Navas of San Antonio.
