Elsie L. (McKenzie ) Dorman

Elsie L. (McKenzie) Dorman, a native of Homer, La., passed away on Feb. 13, 2019, in Bryan, at the age of 96.

After WWII, she lived in Houston and Corpus Christi, working in bookkeeping, accounting and purchasing for various businesses and agencies including Ethyl Corporation, National Marine Fisheries, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), where she retired after 16 years.

Elsie supported a number of charitable causes, enjoyed traveling, a wide range of friends and a variety of hobbies including art, which she took up in her later years. In addition, as a sports enthusiast she was a lifelong fan of LSU, and later adopted the Aggies along with the Penguins hockey team.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Andrew Griffin, and his wife, Dr. Charlotte Kimmel.

Memorial services are planned for 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at the Carriage Inn in Bryan, with Ms. Nancy Baker officiating, and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, with Deacon Dwight Mahoney officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your preference or the Mexia Rotary Club, P.O. Box 225, Mexia, Texas 76667.
