ELOISE DIANE TANKERSLEY CLARK

Eloise Diane Tankersley Clark passed away June 26, 2020, in Mexia, where she resided with her granddaughter for the last 10 years. Eloise was formerly from the Hewitt/Waco area.

Graveside services and burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery located at 3201 S. 12th S., Waco on Monday, June 29, at 11 a.m. with John Carabin of Living Proof Church of Groesbeck officiating. The family will have a visitation at the graveside before the service at 10:30 a.m.

Eloise was born to Henry Augusta (Tip) Tankersley and Esto Lacina Chamblee on Dec. 25, 1921, in Valley Mills, Bosque County.

Eloise spent most of her early adult life traveling with her husband in the Air Force until his retirement to Waco in the 1960s. She was a resident of Waco/Hewitt for over 50 years.

Eloise had two sons, Jimmy Charles and Burl Alan.

In her younger years, she was an Avon sales representative in the Waco area but her true love and job was raising her children and grandchildren. She prided herself in every one of her children’s lives and “spoiled them all” every chance she had.

She was a great storyteller and at times a feisty firecracker that kept everyone on their toes and didn’t mind letting her opinion be known.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Charles Clark and Burl Alan Clark; husband, Charles Patrick Clark; younger siblings and other family and friends in her 98 years of life.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Lisa Clark Paul of Mexia; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Paul of Groesbeck; great-grandson, Brandon Paul of Brazoria; granddaughter, Elizabeth Clark Stewart and great-grandson, Sean Stewart of Hewitt.
