Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Gale Lide

Cynthia “Cindy” Gale Lide born July 25, 1956, to Jewel and Edward Lide, entered the epilogue of her life Sept. 24, 2023.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Barbara Lide Anderson and her spouse Bob Anderson; her nieces, Mysti Anderson Marriott and Jennifer Anderson Ray; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Dustin, Riley, Bailey, Elyssa and Truett. She is also survived by a large branching family and friends, all of whom drew strength and joy from her unique blend of selfless love, devotion to family, and honest assessment of life.

Cindy was born in Mexia where she remained her entire life. She graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1974. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her former classmates and planning class reunions; she was already looking forward to joining them in planning their upcoming, 50-year reunion. Cindy spent the majority of her successful career in outside sales with a large commercial plastics company and retired only to serve several years as a volunteer with CASA for Kids, where she advocated for children and families in need.

She grew her faith and love of God with her church family at Shiloh Church of Christ and valued faith, family and country above all. Those who survive Cindy know she has not just entered another chapter in life, but she has gone on to her Happily Ever After in Heaven, watching over us all as she always did while she walked this Earth. She will be deeply missed, and her memory cherished and celebrated forever. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Bobby Lide officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Billy Lide, Scotty Wadle, Dustin Duncan, Stephen Ray, Bailey Ray, and Truett Ray will serve as pallbearers. Rusty Lide will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
