Bruce ‘Pitter’ Pickett

Memorial services for Bruce “Pitter” Pickett, 63, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Marcus Sheffield will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Driver Cemetery near Teague.

Mr. Pickett passed away on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at Fairview Healthcare in Fairfield.

Bruce was born on Jan. 22, 1955, in Mexia. He graduated with the Class of 1973 from Mexia High School where he played football and basketball and was also a fain member of the Wild Bunch. Mr. Pickett worked in automotive sales for over 40 years in the Dallas area.

He is survived by his three children, Brandon Todd Pickett and wife Erin of Saginaw, Jenny Pickett of Houston, and Kyle Pickett of McKinney; three grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Ronald Pickett of Mexia, and Daryl Pickett and wife Felicia of Teague; a special love of his life, Janice Pickett; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Laura Elizabeth Pickett; one sister, Kay Ellen Pickett Hawkins; and one brother, Charles Thomas Pickett.
