Boyd Allen Miller “Buddy,” 77, of Mexia, went to the heavenly hanger in the sky on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, in Waco. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at First Baptist Church at 500 East Carthage Street, Mexia. Visitation starts at 10 a.m. Marcus Sheffield will be officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Mexia.

Buddy was born to Walter and Ethel Miller in Waco on June 10, 1945. Buddy grew up in the area and worked for numerous aviation companies before establishing McGregor Airport and Waco Airport operations. In 1980, he moved to Mexia to start TrimAire Aviation and become the Airport Manager at the Limestone County Airport. He was known locally and across the country for his knowledge of aviation mechanics. With 62 years of aviation experience, friends and customers knew him as an “icon of the small aircraft industry.” Buddy prioritized his family, whom he loved very much. His loving nature also extended outside his family. Buddy never met a stranger. He also had a deep love for animals. He was a great father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

On Oct. 1, 1981, he married Barbara Jean Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Miller of Mexia; three daughters: Tammie Walters, married to Bill Walters of Waco; Tracy Miller of Waco; Tonya Butler married to Adam Butler of Castorville; two step-sons, Vernon May married to Nancy of Iowa; Bubba May married to Jean Ann Holmes of Mexia; one step-daughter Sherry May Current of Mexia. Buddy and Barbara had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be the employee’s TrimAire Aviation. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.

The family wishes memorials in Buddy’s name be made to LARAS House, P.O. Box 1568, Mexia, Texas 76667.
