Blanca Estela Hernandez

Blanca Estela Hernandez, of Mexia, passed away July 10, 2019, in Waco, at the age of 66. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 13, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Jonathan Hernandez, Nathaniel Hernandez, Juan Manuel Hernandez, Jonathan Hernandez, Jr., Josue Isai Albavera and Francisco Calzontzi will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.

Blanca was born April 28, 1953, in Allende Coahuila, Mexico, to Joaquin Ponce and Margarita Solis. She married Juan Manuel Hernandez on Aug. 12, 1970, in Allende Coahuila. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to taking care of her family, Blanca loved nothing more than going to church, El Buen Pastor. She thoroughly enjoyed being with her church family, singing, worshiping and testifying. She also enjoyed watering her plants, traveling, fishing, watching soccer games and having her home filled with her grandkids. In her younger years, she was a volleyball player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin and Margarita Ponce.

Blanca is survived by her loving husband of almost 49 years, Juan Hernandez; children Blanca Elizabeth Pineda, Yadira Hernandez, Abdeyanet Calzontzi, Jonathan Hernandez and Nathaniel Hernandez; and grandchildren Teresa Ariday Menchaca, Josue Isai Albavera, Juan Manuel Hernandez, Bianca Abigail Calzontzi, Jonathan Hernandez, Jr., Francisco Calzontzi, Jr., Yarendy Yvette Rivera, Mathew Calzontzi, Mia Anahi Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez, Christopher Calzontzi, Nathan Cole Hernandez, Francisco Emmanuel Rivera, Juanita Analeigh Hernandez, Alonzo Zayn Harris and Hector Javier Rivera.
