Billy Dwain Sims

Billy Dwain Sims, 85, of Shiloh, passed away Nov. 23, 2018, in Mexia.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with the Rev. Tracy Sims and the Rev. David Snow officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery.  Russell Cobbs, Ronnie Sims, Richard Mc-Gowan, Joe Williams, Caleb Sims and Josh Sims will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.

Billy was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Lost Prairie, Texas, to Doyle “OK” and Blanche Baldwin Sims.  In addition to being a rancher, he retired from the railroad and worked at the Mexia State School.

Billy married the love of his life, Tommie Faye Cobbs on July 25, 1957, in Teague, and they were blessed with one son, Charles.  His life revolved around the family he deeply loved, serving the Lord and hard work.  Billy thoroughly enjoy working his cattle or anything that involved the ranch.  He was happiest when working the ranch with Charles by his side.  

Billy was a longtime member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Doria Sims; and daughter-inlaw, Shelia Sims.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Tommie Sims of Mexia; son, Charles Sims of Mexia; grandchildren, Samantha Sims of Mexia and Cameron Sims and wife, Dallas of Groesbeck; great-grandchildren, Adleigh and Sonny of Groesbeck; and other family members and friends.
