Billie was born in Mexia, on Feb. 12, 1930, to Tommy N. “Hawk” and Tennie Bradshaw. Billie graduated from Mexia High School in 1947 in the Top 10 of her class. Billie married Albert Nabors, on Aug. 16, 1950. They had just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Their 69th anniversary will be celebrated in Heaven, as Albert passed away only six days before Billie.

Billie began working at Gibbs Memorial Library in Mexia after graduation from Mexia High. She then worked for attorney Wallace Mason. After the birth of her first child she was a homemaker. When her children began school she worked alongside her husband in the dry cleaning business. Billie was a longtime Sunday school teacher for toddler-aged children at First Baptist Church in Mexia. She and Albert were involved in every aspect of their church. Billie was in a bowling league for years and was the top bowler on her team. She was an avid reader, teaching her three children to read before they began school. She was an expert seamstress at the cleaners, altering expensive and elaborate wedding dresses and any type of clothing. She retired in 1998, after which she centered her life around her family.
