Alvie Charles “Butch” Woodall

Memorial services for Alvie Charles “Butch” Woodall, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with David West officiating.

God called Butch home, ending his race here on this earth and ending his suffering of Dementia. Butch passed away June 13, 2023, in San Antonio at the home of his niece, Linda Sanchez, with his wife Aurora (of 50 years) along with other family members by his side.

Butch was born in San Antonio to his dad, Alva S. Woodall, and mother, Jaunita Killough Woodall, on Sept. 21,1946.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents and mother (mom from age 4) Bettie Woodall Combs along with grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Butch is survived by his wife, Aurora; two brothers, Jimmy and wife Debbie, and Jerry; and two sisters, Theresa Mc Donald, and Tonya and husband Randy Barnett; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Butch retired with 30 years service from the Mexia State School, having a work ethic of loyalty and dedication to his job. His retirement years were spent keeping his yard mowed (with his prize possession) a new riding mower Aurora bought him for his retirement present. The rest of his time was spent sitting on the porch with Aurora and Precious, their beloved Dachshund.

Although Butch never drove (legally) he got around Mexia (all over Mexia) always on his bicycle with determination to get wherever he wanted to go and sometimes with little to no regards to traffic lights.

His bicycles are retired and no longer needed because God is taking care of him now and I know Butch has that smile and that little laugh that we will miss.

BUTCH - A Brother, Husband, Uncle, Cousin, Brother n Law - A Kind, Loving Soul - you will be missed but never forgotten.

Your Loving Family.
