WEITA ANN MARTIN

Weita Ann Martin, 89, of Mexia, passed away on Aug. 29, 2021, at Providence Place Hospice in Waco. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel, with the Rev. Don Morton officiating. Interment will follow at Pt. Enterprise Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Martin was born on June 30, 1932, in Freestone County, Texas to Dowey and Phara Beene Wright. She formerly worked at the First United Methodist Church Preschool in Mexia and was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, working jigsaw puzzles and playing dominoes and Battleship. Reading her Bible was very much a part of her life, and meant a lot to her. She loved all five of her boys dearly and spending time with her grandchildren.

Weita was preceded in death by her parents, Dowey and Phara Wright; siblings Donald Wright, Wanda Lamb and Patsy Huckaby; one grandchild, Mark Wadle Jr; first husband Lee Andrew Wadle and second husband, E.W. Dub Martin. Survivors include her sons, Scotty Wadle and wife Cindy, Mark Wadle, Barry Martin, Garry Martin and Kelly Don Martin; grandchildren Tracy Wadle and Krissy Chappell and James; great-grandchildren Chance Chappell, Katlyn Chappell, Levi Wadle, Bryce Bailey and Kaylee Brooks; sister-in-law Peggy Wright; brother Bud Wright; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as special friend, Kim Kitchens.

Serving as pallbearers are Bob Anderson, James Jackson, Larry Speights, Cody Lamb, Kevin Gunn and Mike Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Chance Chappell, Levi Wadle, Bryce Bailey and Shane Gunn.
