Christmas at the Fort Saturday saw an estimated 350 people participate as the old fort put on demonstrations of colonial skills. Interested attendees bundled up to brave the chill air, but the bright sunny sky helped make the experience a delight for most.

Two Mexia police officers responded to a 911 call in the 700 block of Contour for a report of a man allegedly hitting his wife twice in the face. The call came in on Friday, Dec. 11, a few minutes before 7 p.m., and the wife said she was in the bathroom.
