Mexia police officers arrested a man in the parking lot of a Mexia department store last weekend after he allegedly made bomb threats against shoppers and then also asked them for money.

In the third of three Christmas concerts being put on by Mexia Independent School District, the Mexia High School band performed a variety of Christmas songs Thursday night at the high school gym.

Anyone in Mexia on Christmas Day may want to remind themselves that if they hear sirens there may not be not an emergency: it’s just the sound of the Mexia Fire Department calling children to come get a gift from Santa as they drive a fire truck up and down the streets of the city.
