A parade to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will wind through downtown Mexia on Saturday, Jan. 16, and organizers are inviting Mexia residents to turn out to honor the civil rights figure.
Mexia had plenty of warning from the National Weather Service about the severe weather approaching last weekend. As the storm marched across Texas, it covered the land with snow, which began falling Sunday morning in Mexia, sometimes as huge, fluffy flakes, other times as small, almost formless pellets.
The TDCJ Parole Board ended up denying the medical parole Carlos Don Stultz had requested, Limestone County Attorney Roy DeFriend reported Friday, Jan. 8.
