Mexia police officers responded to two incidences of assault last week, one involving a woman who was allegedly acting out and eventually assaulted the officer who was trying to arrest her; and another who stabbed the man who allegedly assaulted her. Officers also picked up a man with outstanding warrants.
Real estate activity related to the building of a high-speed rail line running through Freestone, Limestone and Navarro counties has slowed since last year, when 33 separate properties valued at $3.3 million were purchased by Texas Central Railroad & Infrastructure Inc.
