The Limestone county dispatch is responsible for taking 911 calls and getting the appropriate emergency responders on the scene. As a 24-7 operating department working out of the Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers receive calls from distressed citizens for any number of reasons – and early Monday, Feb. 28, dispatcher Rosie Briseno talked a woman through preterm labor.

Following several days of residents having to depend on the city of Mexia to manually pump out sewage and debris from the old deteriorating sewer line made of hard clay pipes, they were able to express a sigh of relief Thursday, March 3, when workers began replacing it with a new one.
