Mexia City Manager Eric Garretty informed City Council during the Tuesday, June 20, meeting that the city’s 20-yearold street-sweeper is at the end of its service life. He offered five options to consider: contract with a street-sweeping service; buy a new street-sweeper; buy a used street sweeper; rehabilitate the current street sweeper; or do nothing and have city employees use manual labor to clean the gutters.
